"Timor arena est; fides petra. In deserto vitae, sapiens super petram aedificat."
Arenae Aeternae
In vastis arenarum campis, duo viri domum aedificabant. Primus, nomine Dubius, timorem in corde gerebat. Super arenam mobilem fundamenta posuit, dicens: "Celeriter aedifico, nam tempestas appropinquat."
Alter, Fidelis vocatus, patienter quaerebat. Tandem, petram invenit, profunde in arena celatam. Magno cum labore, petram effodere coepit.
Dubius eum derisit: "Stulte! Tempus perdis dum ego iam tectum erigo."
Fidelis, impavidus, respondit: "Non tempus, sed aeternitatem respicio."
Opere completo, tempestas furibunda erupit. Venti ululabant, arena vorticibus agebatur. Domus Dubii, quamvis magna et ornata, tremuit et corruit, a ventis disiecta.
At domus Fidelis, humilis sed firma, immota stabat. Transacta procella, Fidelis ex domo exiit, oculos ad caelum tollens, gratias agens.
Sic in deserto vitae, qui in fide fundatur, adversus omnes procellas perdurat.
English Version
"Fear is sand; faith is rock. In the desert of life, the wise one builds upon the rock."
The Eternal Sands
In vast fields of sand, two men were building a house. The first, named Dubius (Doubtful), carried fear in his heart. He laid foundations on shifting sand, saying: "I build quickly, for the storm approaches."
The other, called Fidelis (Faithful), searched patiently. At last, he found a rock, deeply hidden in the sand. With great effort, he began to dig out the rock. Dubius mocked him: "Fool! You waste time while I already raise a roof."
Fidelis, undaunted, replied: "I look not to time, but to eternity."
Work completed, a furious storm broke out. Winds howled, sand swirled in vortexes. The house of Dubius, though large and ornate, trembled and collapsed, scattered by the winds.
But the house of Fidelis, humble yet firm, stood unmoved. After the storm passed, Fidelis came out of the house, lifting his eyes to the sky, giving thanks.
Thus in the desert of life, he who is founded in faith endures against all storms.
